Thermal performance study of plaster reinforced with Alfa fibers

One-hundred percent local plaster-based building materials were developed using Alfa (Stipa tenacissima L.) fibers from eastern Morocco region. Indeed, the incorporation of natural in is one promising approaches to design new bio-based and green sector. The present study concerns fabrication, investigation thermophysical properties energy saving potential Alfa-plasterboard for roofing applications. Different mixtures with different percentages (2%, 4%, 6%, 8%) prepared assess effect on performance plaster. For comparison purposes, a diameter 3mm used ensure homogenized mixtures. Thermal tests, TPS method show that integration matrices improves their thermal insulation quality about 34%, slows heat transfer rating 26.9% compared reference case. Besides utility improving compressive plaster, addition 8% by mass reduces density plaster 10.5% while increasing its storage capacity 1.4%. diffusivity values obtained hot disk flash methods consistent. In terms analysis, numerical simulations retrofit 40 mm-thick plasterboard requirements residential buildings approximately divided into 8.6% cooling 2.3% heating, which represents an annual reduction 1.9 kWh m−2.
